I & G
Bridging Cultures Through Hospitality & Family Connection
I + G envisioned more than a destination wedding in Puerto Rico—they wanted a meaningful experience that would bring together family and friends from different backgrounds while introducing guests to the culture, hospitality, and traditions that were so important to them. With loved ones traveling from across the mainland United States to celebrate in Puerto Rico, the wedding weekend became an opportunity to create connection, build relationships, and immerse guests in the bride's heritage in an authentic and welcoming way.
Planning a destination wedding always requires thoughtful coordination, but this celebration presented additional layers of complexity. Throughout the planning process, we navigated communication between English and Spanish-speaking vendors, coordinated logistics across multiple locations, and helped ensure cultural traditions were incorporated in ways that felt meaningful to the couple and accessible to their guests. From managing vendor relationships and timelines to translating communication and helping guests navigate a destination wedding experience, our role was to create clarity and confidence throughout the planning journey.
As wedding day approached, flexibility became especially important. Weather forecasts threatened the oceanfront ceremony location, while a last-minute pianist cancellation required immediate problem-solving. Through proactive communication, contingency planning, and strong vendor relationships, we were able to navigate unexpected challenges while protecting the couple's priorities and vision for the day.
What began as introductions between families quickly evolved into shared meals, conversations, and friendships that lasted well beyond the wedding weekend. By the end of the celebration, guests had not only witnessed a marriage, but experienced a deeper understanding of one another's cultures, traditions, and families. The result was a wedding that felt joyful, welcoming, and deeply connected—a reflection of the couple's love story and the community they had brought together.

A & M
Designing for Accessibility, Comfort, and Peace of Mind
When A + M began planning their wedding, they knew they wanted a celebration that honored their Filipino and American backgrounds while feeling accessible, comfortable, and true to who they were. The bride navigated narcolepsy and migraine triggers, while the groom experienced social anxiety, making it important that the wedding day support their well-being as much as it celebrated their love story. Together, we approached planning through the lens of accessibility, focusing not only on logistics, but on creating an environment where both partners could fully participate in and enjoy their wedding day.
Throughout the planning process, we intentionally built accommodations into the event experience. Rather than treating accessibility as an afterthought, it became a guiding principle behind many planning decisions. Rest breaks were incorporated directly into the timeline, including dedicated downtime before the ceremony and again before the reception festivities began. Photography was spread throughout the day in shorter segments to avoid exhaustion, while quiet spaces were intentionally designated within the venue to provide opportunities for decompression when needed. The couple also had access to a private room where they could step away and recharge throughout the celebration.
Thoughtful attention was also given to sensory considerations. Vendor communication included a fragrance-free request to help avoid migraine triggers, lighting choices were discussed in advance, and the overall flow of the day was designed to feel predictable and manageable. Detailed timelines helped reduce uncertainty and anxiety, while proactive vendor management allowed the couple to avoid unnecessary stress and overwhelming communication. Even small details reflected this approach, including providing fidget putty to the couple's young flower attendant to help him feel comfortable and engaged throughout the festivities.
As the wedding approached, an additional challenge emerged when rain entered the forecast. The couple felt strongly about keeping their ceremony outdoors if at all possible, and we worked closely with the venue to advocate for their priorities while simultaneously preparing detailed backup plans. Multiple rain layouts were developed in advance, allowing decisions to be made confidently rather than reactively. While portions of the celebration ultimately moved indoors, the couple felt supported knowing every scenario had been thoughtfully considered and planned for ahead of time.
By wedding day, the focus shifted from managing logistics to protecting the couple's experience. Through intentional planning, flexibility, advocacy, and thoughtful accommodations, A + M were able to remain present, connected, and fully immersed in the celebration. More than anything, they left feeling seen, understood, and cared for. Their wedding became a beautiful example of how accessibility and inclusion can be seamlessly integrated into wedding planning, creating a celebration that honors both the couple's needs and the people who love them.

G & M
Honoring Heritage, Identity & Chosen Community
G + M envisioned a wedding weekend that celebrated both Taiwanese heritage and queer identity with equal intention. Rather than blending everything into a single event, the couple wanted each day to tell a different part of their story. One day would center on queer joy, chosen family, and community through performances, music, Malaysian-inspired cuisine, and a vibrant celebration of self-expression. The following day would immerse guests in Taiwanese cultural traditions through a night market-inspired experience featuring traditional musicians, a family procession, lion dancers, live grilling stations, mahjong, and meaningful ceremonial moments. The challenge was creating two completely distinct experiences while ensuring they felt connected as part of one cohesive wedding weekend.
Planning and coordinating a multi-day celebration of this scale required balancing logistics, cultural considerations, guest experience, and emotional nuance simultaneously. With nearly 200 guests traveling from across the country and approximately 30 vendors participating across both events, our role extended far beyond traditional wedding coordination. We managed vendor communication, production timelines, rentals, guest flow, event setup, tablescape execution, and the countless moving pieces required to keep multiple events operating seamlessly. Throughout the weekend, timelines functioned more like carefully choreographed itineraries, ensuring guests remained informed, engaged, and excited without feeling overwhelmed or fatigued.
The planning process also required thoughtful navigation of cultural traditions and family dynamics. Together, we worked through decisions about which traditions felt most meaningful to incorporate and how they could be honored authentically within the overall guest experience. Cultural elements such as processions and lion dancers required additional flexibility within the timeline, allowing space for moments that naturally unfold at their own pace. At the same time, uncertainty surrounding family participation added another layer of planning complexity, as key attendance, seating, and speaking roles remained fluid until the final days leading up to the wedding weekend.
Behind the scenes, contingency planning became essential. Multi-day celebrations create exponentially more opportunities for schedule shifts, logistical challenges, and unexpected changes. By building multiple layers of backup plans, coordinating dozens of vendor arrival and departure schedules, and continuously adapting in real time, we ensured guests experienced a celebration that felt effortless, even when countless details were being managed simultaneously behind the scenes.
The result was a wedding weekend that honored heritage, celebrated identity, and created space for every guest to feel welcomed and included. Each event maintained its own distinct energy and purpose while contributing to a larger story about love, community, belonging, and chosen family. More than anything, the weekend reflected the couple's vision of creating a celebration where culture, authenticity, and joy could coexist without compromise.

S & B
Creating Calm, Connection, and Confidence
When S + B reached out to Planned + Polished, they were just two and a half months away from their wedding day. After planning much of the celebration themselves, they realized they needed experienced support to organize the remaining details, coordinate vendors, and ensure everything came together seamlessly. Their goal was simple: to stop worrying about logistics and be fully present with the family and friends traveling from across the country to celebrate with them.
Hosted in Downtown Los Angeles' Arts District, the wedding reflected the couple's creative, unconventional personalities. They transformed De La Nonna and the connected speakeasy next door into a private wedding experience for approximately 60 guests, nearly all of whom traveled from outside Los Angeles. With family and friends arriving from across the United States and Mexico, the wedding weekend felt less like a traditional local wedding and more like a destination gathering centered around community, connection, and shared experiences.
Our planning process focused on bringing structure and clarity to the final months leading up to the celebration. Through vendor communication, timeline development, logistics management, rehearsal coordination, and day-of execution, we helped ensure every detail was organized and every participant knew what to expect. This allowed the couple to shift their energy away from managing moving pieces and toward enjoying the experience they had worked so hard to create.
The wedding itself embraced a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Guests gathered beneath patio lights for a standing ceremony, while open seating encouraged natural conversation and connection throughout the evening. Personal touches—including custom nail art designed to create a heart when the couple joined their thumbs together, a rehearsal gathering at a vintage arcade, and a soundtrack blending hip-hop, pop favorites, and traditional Mexican dance music—made the celebration feel distinctly their own.
By wedding day, our role became protecting the couple's ability to remain present. While we managed timelines, vendors, and behind-the-scenes logistics, S + B were free to focus on their guests, their families, and the significance of the moment. The result was a wedding that felt effortless, joyful, and deeply personal—a celebration that reflected not only who they were as a couple, but the vibrant community they had built around them.
